Helping

BECOME AN ACTIVE MEMBER

There are a number of opportunities to get involved in parish life and to serve at the moment. See below and let us know if there are other ways you would like to serve.

OPPORTUNITIES

Become a VOTING MEMBER

Anyone may attend our services and become a member of our worshipping community, but if you are an Orthodox Christian we encourage you to become a voting member.  This allows you to vote at the General Meetings of the Parish.  All we ask is that you complete a membership form, available in church, and submit it to the Parish Secretary.

Maintenance team

If you like a bit of DIY and would like to help maintain the building, speak to Robert

Social and Hospitality Team

If you like organising social gatherings and events, speak to Kate Hearn or another of our Parish Councillors.  Or just ask someone!

Ushers

If you like greeting people and can make it early to Sunday services (on a rota), speak to Lydia or Lauren. This is a really important ministry.

Singing in the Choir

If you like to sing or would like to learn to be part of the choir, speak to our choirmaster (Reader) Tony Hearn either in church or via info@bristol-orthodox-church.co.uk .  A willingness to read music, ability to sing in tune and experience of choral singing would be useful.

Children and Young People

If you like to work with children and can lead a fun class, at a minimum of once a month, speak to Ursula in church.  Here is a short video about support for the Sunday School movement in our Archdiocese.

Cleaning

If you like to keep things clean and tidy and would like to help with this important task for our Church building, speak to Kate Hearn (president@bristol-orthodox-church.co.uk).
